POLICE are appealing for information after a woman in her 70s had a number of items of jewellery given to her by her late husband stolen in a burglary.
Her home in Princess Drive, Highwoods, Colchester, was broken in to between 8.10pm on July 12 and 10.30am on July 13 after a kitchen window was forced open.
Jewellery worth over �2,000 was stolen belonging to the woman, aged in her 70s. The majority of which was bought for her by her late husband and holds a lot of sentimental value.
The items include a gold charm bracelet, a large gold locket containing a photo of the woman and her husband, a ruby bracelet which was given as a wedding anniversary present and a number of other bracelets and necklaces.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Colchester on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
