Two people were arrested after the body of a man was discovered in a flat in Colchester.
Police were called to the property in Turner Road shortly before 1pm on Sunday.
They found the body of a man in his 40s.
Two people from Colchester – a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s – were arrested in connection with the death and were held for questioning by detectives at separate police stations in north Essex.
The man has been bailed to return to police on July 8.
Meanwhile the woman is still being questioned.
A spokesman for Essex Police said the death is being treated as suspicious at this stage.
