A group of work colleagues tackled a gruelling challenge in the Yorkshire Dales to raise more than £2,000 for charity.

The team of seven – Holly Pye, Sarah Wilson, Conrad Bos, Scott Parry, Heidi O’Dowd, Louise Miller and Bernard Verburg – all work for Bury St Edmunds-based company Bosta UK.

The group decided to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Scaling the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough within the 12-hour target, the team raised a total of £2,104 for the Bury-based charity, which cares for people in the final chapter of their lives.

Team member Sarah Wilson said: “We did all really enjoy it, and it was really nice to be able to do it as a team. Throughout the whole day, there were times that we all struggled, but because we were all doing it together we were able to help each other along.

“As well as being able to do something together as a team, it was also our chance to be able to raise funds for a local charity.

“A lot of us have had connections with the hospice, both past and present, so for us, it was really important to be able to raise the funds.”

Bosta UK paid for all the group’s expenses for the challenge, including travel and accomodation.

Charlie De-Moore, the hospice’s events fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to the Bosta team for their efforts. They certainly didn’t pick an easy challenge and to complete it in 12-hours is fantastic.

“The money they have raised will make a big difference to the charity and the people we support across the area.”
