Kind-hearted staff and students from West Suffolk College delivered presents to children in the area as part of a special Christmas tree project.
Staff and students at the college took a tag from the Christmas tree in the reception area which had the age and gender of a child to buy a gift for.
The ages ranged from 0-18 years-old and it was decided the price for each gift would be between £10-15.
Staff and students then bought a suitable gift and wrapped it up with the tag attached.
The presents have been distributed to the fostering and adoption team at West Suffolk House and children at West Suffolk Hospital - both in Bury St Edmunds.
Nicola Tabb, course director for level 3 active leisure and tourism, who led the project, praised the students at the college for their work on the initiative.
Karen Wright, course director for progression to beauty, who took part in the initiative, said: “I felt this was such an inspirational, unselfish idea that brings the true meaning of Christmas to life.
“This was a great opportunity to enable people to reflect and think about those less fortunate than themselves, and to be able to do a kind gesture to help make another person’s Christmas a little bit special.
Lauren Mannion, 17, from Thetford, and Sai Pongnop, 18, from Newmarket, who both took part in the project, said: “On behalf of our whole class we are so pleased that we could be a part of making the children’s Christmas that bit more special.”
