An Ipswich man who was found in possession of a bag containing more than 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin when police raided his flat has been given a community order.

Police officers went to Jonathan Field’s first floor flat in Morgan Drive to execute a search warrant at around noon on March 31 last year and were let into the property by his son, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Field was in bed and when he got up he was found to have a bag containing nine wraps of crack cocaine and 32 wraps of heroin stuck to his back, said Alex Rooke, prosecuting.

A bag containing a cutting agent and three sets of electric scales was also found.

Field told the court he was a drug user but denied being a drug dealer.

Field, 50, Ipswich, denied possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply and was cleared by a jury of those offences. He admitted possessing the drugs and was given a 12 month community order and a 15 day rehabilitation activity requirement.
