A COMMUNITY policeman is recovering at his Colchester home today after he was beaten up while trying to stop a suspected thief running off.Police Community Support Officer Wayne Burke, 44, was taken to hospital after suffering a neck injury as well as cuts and bruises to his face in the incident, which happened in Clacton on Saturday.
