POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of two teenage girls who disappeared from their homes two weeks ago.

Olivia Gordon, 15, and her friend Kayleigheen Rogers, 16, both from Bury St Edmunds, were reported missing on April 25.

Initially the girl's made several calls to their parents alleging they were having a holiday in Scotland and would return to Bury last Saturday.

The girls did not return as expected and have not made contact with anybody since Friday, May 2.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: "I can confirm the girl's are still missing and that nobody has heard from them since last Friday. Obviously as we haven't heard from the girls for five days we are becoming increasingly concerned for their safety. We have a team of officers who continue to work on the case and who are liasing with the police and media in Scotland."

Although the girls told their parents they were in Scotland police believe it is possible they could still be in the Bury St Edmunds area.

Police have now revealed the girls were last seen by a friend at around 8.10pm on April 25, catching a train from Bury St Edmunds to Ipswich.

Olivia's mother, Phillipa Gordon, says she is convinced her daughter is not in the area and says she is beginning to fear the worst.

She said: "I last heard from Olivia on Tuesday, April 29 and Kayleigheen called her parents last Friday, but we haven't heard anything since. I am convinced the girls did go to Scotland and I think it is a waste of time to keep talking about them being local.

"Both girls have gone missing for 48 hours before, but they were always just at a friends and never far away.

"I am really frightened because all of a sudden the telephone calls have just stopped and not just to us but to all their friends to. I am convinced Olivia would have called by now if she could, but I think there is a reason why she can't and I am beginning to fear the worst."

Olivia is 5ft 9in tall with collar-length hair, blue eyes, a pale complexion and a stud in her top lip. She was last seen wearing a dark cardigan and light skirt.

Kayleigheen is slim, 5ft 4in tall with a pale complexion and black shoulder length hair. Her nose, eyes and lip are pierced.
