CONCERN is growing for the welfare of an 81-year-old man who has been reported missing from his home in Great Yarmouth.

Joseph Stan Pearson, of Arundel Road, was last seen by family at 10am yesterday in the Yarmouth area. Mr Pearson, known locally as Stan, was due to be travelling with family to Birmingham today.

He is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build with short grey hair. He is thought to be smartly dressed in trousers, shirt and tie and may also be wearing a suit jacket. He is thought to have a black leather briefcase with him.

He is originally from the Birmingham area, so speaks with a Midlands accent. He also has a large flat mole on his left cheek which is light brown in colour.

It is thought that Mr Pearson may have travelled to Norwich from Yarmouth town centre via the X1 bus service at some point on Friday.

He may have then tried to make his own way to Birmingham, so members of the public are asked to be especially vigilant in the area's bus and train stations.

Anyone who has seen Mr Pearson should contact Norfolk police on 0845 456 4567.
