A PENSIONER in her 80s was the victim of a conman in Trimley St Mary today who stole her purse after asking for help
The distraction burglary occurred around 9am to 9.30am.
Police said the man called the woman's home and reported that his car had broken down.
The pensioner let the burglar in and left him standing in her hallway while she went to find something he had asked for.
The conman left a short while later.
However, the woman subsequently discovered her purse, which had been in her handbag in the hallway, was missing.
Police are urging residents to be on the alert and to report any suspicious callers immediately using 999.
