A two-car crash at the Copdock interchange is causing traffic jams on the A12 today.
The accident happened in the northbound carriageway just before the traffic lights at around 9.25pm.
A Suffolk police spokesman said a black VW Polo and red Ford Fiesta were involved in the crash.
He said an ambulance has been called after a woman complained of chest pain but it is not thought to be serious.
Delays are likely to affected motorists approaching Ipswich.
