Two schools have been evacuated after a Second World War hand grenade was found in a garage in Lowestoft.
The property, in the Kelly-Plain Court area, was being cleared when the item was discovered at about 10.40am today.
A police cordon is in place and people are being advised to leave the area.
Northfields St Nicholas Primary and St Margaret’s School have been evacuated and Main Road is being closed.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said: “The Bomb Disposal Service is currently dealing with the incident and Police are advising members of the public not to try and enter the area until the cordon is lifted.”
