Three crews were called to Colchester Road in White Colne at 12.11pm today.
Wearing breathing apparatus, they battled the blaze using one hose reel jet.
Smoke had been seen “pouring from a back window” and the whole property was heavily smoke logged.
Using a high pressure fan crews cleared the smoke from the unoccupied terraced cottage .
The incident was successfully brought under control within just under 30 minutes.
