FIREFIGHTERS tackled a large fire which swept its way through 30 acres of stubble in Ixworth this afternoon.
Five appliances were despatched to Abbey Farm on Heath Road in the village near Bury St Edmunds.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a stubble fire in a field at 2.34pm.
Engines from Ixworth, Elmswell and three from Bury St Edmunds used hose reels and beaters to extinguish the blaze.
