FIREFIGHTERS have left the scene of a 25-acre blaze which broke out on Wednesday.
The last remaining crews left Hill Farm, Shotley Road, Chelmondiston at 7pm yesterday. However, firefighters returned to the site today to reassess the situation.
Flames engulfed a baler at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, quickly spreading to standing crops and woodland.
Eight fires crews were scrambled to the scene from Holbrook, Ipswich and Felixstowe, while two water bowsers were also sent.More than 50 firefighters fought the blaze which saw flames “shooting into the sky” and plumes of smoke visible for miles.
