Crews tackle car fire

FIREFIGHTERS in Ipswich were called out in the early hours of this morning to a suspicious car blaze.

Crews from Colchester Road and Princes Street Fire Stations were sent to Queen's Way at just after 3.30am to deal with the fire, which took place close to the roundabout.

A blue Vauxhall Cavalier was the vehicle involved and had been reported stolen from a car park in Beech Road, Rushmere St Andrew.

One hose reel jet was used to tackle the flames, which were extinguished by 3.45am. A fire service spokesman said the incident was being treated as suspicious.
