RESIDENTS of a cottage near Bury St Edmunds had a narrow escape yesterday after flames were spotted in the chimney.
RESIDENTS of a cottage near Bury St Edmunds had a narrow escape yesterday after flames were spotted in the chimney.
One fire crew from Bury was called to the property on Valley Road in Great Waldingfield at around 3pm to reports of a chimney blaze.
There they used a nine metre ladder, a roof ladder, a stirrup pump and chimney rods to extinguish the potentially serious fire.
The home was given the all clear shortly before 4pm.
