TWO men were robbed as they waited for a fast food order at a popular drive through restaurant.

The shocked pair had a mobile phone, keys and bank card stolen from their pockets as they sat in their vehicles at Sudbury's McDonalds store on Monday night.

A gang of three men then turned their attentions to another man walking in the area who was attacked and suffered facial injuries before the trio fled the scene.

Suffolk police have appealed for witnesses to the robbery and assault which took place between 11.20pm and 11.30pm.

A spokesman said: “A man has been robbed of his mobile phone, keys, a bank card and cigarettes at the rear of a fast food restaurant and another man has been assaulted.

“The first victim and another man were near the drive through section when they were approached by three males who demanded they hand over anything on their persons.

“Two of the males grabbed at one of the men and stole items from his pockets. Another man then came into the yard and was assaulted, he suffered facial injuries.”

The first man has been described as 6ft tall, of slim build, in his 20s with a thin moustache and wearing a black waterproof hooded top with the hood up and dark jeans.

The second male is described as 6ft tall, of slim build and wearing a light coloured hooded top with the hood up while the third man is 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build with short light brown hair and wearing a cream hooded top.
