Hundreds of people descended on Colchester’s High Street at the weekend, not for shopping but for a spot of pantomime horse racing.

Colourful creations lit up the town, with people dressed as all kinds of breeds adorned with different decorations for Auld Nag’s Folly.

While some ran as individuals, others worked together as a fully-sized horse – one was even metres above the others and covered in an array of white stars while towing a carriage.

Participants also got creative with their own outfits, with one couple dressed as Snow White and her prince.

They event, which took place on September 17, was the first-ever full race card of seven pantomime horses to trot through the town.
