Crown court date for Bury murder case

A MAN accused of murdering a 22-year-old man on Christmas Eve at a house in the centre of a Suffolk town has had his case sent to the Crown Court.

A MAN accused of murdering a 22-year-old man on Christmas Eve at a house in the centre of a Suffolk town has had his case sent to the Crown Court.

Kwabena Asumadu today appeared at Sudbury Magistrates Court charged with the murder of Prince Kofi Koomson following an incident in St John's Place, Bury St Edmunds.

Speaking only to answer his name, date of birth and address, Asumadu, 28, who lived at St John's Place, made no application for bail and magistrates formally sent the case to Ipswich Crown Court on January 4.

Mr Kofi Koomson, also of St John's Place, was stabbed seven times in the chest in the early hours of Sunday morning. He died at the scene.
