FRIDAY night's Cup Final between Lakeside and Coventry has been cancelled due to wet weather.
The club have taken the decision early to prevent fans from both teams from making a fruitless journey to the Arena-Essex Raceway after early afternoon rain and a forecast of heavier spells of rain continuing past 9pm.
The meeting will be restaged on Wednesday 14th October with an 8pm start time with Friday 16th October reserved in case that meeting also falls victim to the weather.
The Hammers Co Promoter Jon Cook states: "Obviously we don't want to run a Cup Final in conditions that make its staging touch and go and with the added problem of having to vacate the Raceway for their Firecracker's preparations after 16th October we feel with the long range forecast excellent for next Wednesday and iffy again for next Friday that this is the best course of action. Hopefully we have saved fans of both teams from inconvenience tonight and we can all enjoy an occasion fitting of a Final next week".
