A man with a “man bag” is wanted after an assault at a Witham bar

The attack happened in the Legends Sports Bar in Newland Street at around 11.45pm on Saturday January 31.

Police only released details of the incident today.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, was left with damaged teeth and a cut lip which needed stitches after the assault in the smoking area.

Police are looking for a man in connection with the incident.

He was white, aged 24-25, 5ft 9-10ins tall of thin build, with short light brown hair.

At the time he was wearing a white jumper and a brown “man bag”.

Pc Kim Jones said: “At time of the assault the victim was stood with a woman who we have yet to trace and I am also keen to speak to her.”

Anyone with information should call Pc Jones at Braintree Police Station on 101.
