Cyclist injured in accident

A CYCLIST was taken to hospital this morning after being hit by a car door.

The man in his 50s was cycling along Finningham Road, Stowmarket, when the door of a car which had stopped ahead of him suddenly opened into the road, striking his bike and knocking him off.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said the rider had suffered chest and shoulder pain and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment.
