CYCLISTS turned out at the weekend to raise money for Suffolk's historic churches.

The 27th Suffolk Historic Churches Trust sponsored bike ride took place on Saturday and once again proved a great success.

Patrick Grieve, chairman of the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust Bike Ride said: “It was a wonderful soft balmy morning and some of the churches had a jolly good turnout.

“The bike ride is a tremendous boost to the historic churches trust and it has been very well supported over the years and every year we seem to do better than the year before.”

The Suffolk Historic Churches Trust gives grants to the historic churches and chapels of all denominations towards repair and maintenance costs. All money raised from the event is shared equally between the Trust and the church nominated by the cyclist.
