The actor and singer, who grew up in Colchester, was also fined £700 at Cardiff Magistrates' Court this morning.
The 40-year-old, an ex-pupil at Sir Charles Lucas School, was almost twice the drink-drive limit when he was stopped by police in Cardiff city centre in June.
