Police have renewed appeals for witnesses to a crash which left a young girl with potentially life-changing injuries at the weekend.

The collision happened in Maldon at about 6pm on Sunday, when a blue BMW reportedly collided with a number of vehicles and a girl in King Street.

The girl remains in a stable condition after being taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

A 27-year-old man, of no fixed address, and a 29-year-old man, of Wickham Bishops, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and drink-driving.

Detective Sergeant Adam High, said: “I need to speak to anyone who saw the BMW prior to the collision to come forward. This is a busy residential road and I believe someone will have seen something.”
