Day of Peace to be marked at the cathedral in Bury St Edmunds

International Day of Peace, part of the United Nations International Day of Peace, is being recognised with a special service at St Edmundsbury Cathedral this weekend.

“A People of Peace” event featuring a reflection in words and music with text and lyrics by Nick Fawcett and music by Kevin Mayhew, is taking place at 7pm, on Sunday, September 23.

It is being held to recognise the efforts of individuals and organisations to end conflict and promote peace.

There will be a free entry with a retiring collection taking place with the proceeds donated to Amnesty International.
