A COLCHESTER-based soldier who died after being shot in the head in Afghanistan has been named by the Ministry of Defence as Private Jason Lee Rawstron.
The 23-year-old, who served with 2nd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, was killed by Taliban forces in Helmand Province in the southern part of the country yesterday morning.
Private Rawstron was originally from Clayton-le-Moors in Lancashire.
