A TEENAGE boy found hanged in a wooded area of a Suffolk seaside retreat has been identified following a police appeal.

The boy, discovered last Thursday in the Millfield Road area of Walberswick, is a 16-year-old from the Great Yarmouth area.

A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said: “A family member went to Lowestoft police station this morning and spoke to officers there.

“Formal identification procedures will be carried out next week and he will not be officially named by police until after this formal identification has occurred.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and an inquest will be held in due course.”

This is likely to be opened after the formal identification next week.

The spokesman added: “Police would like to thank the media for their assistance with this appeal. The family contacted police as a direct result of this.”
