A CHAMPIONSHIP goalkeeper who was involved in a crash which claimed the lives of two young boys has been suspended by his club.
Plymouth stopper Luke McCormick has been told he will not take any part in the club's pre-season training.
The 24-year-old has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol last month following a motorway accident in which two young boys were killed.
McCormick is understood to have been returning home to Coventry following the wedding celebrations of former team-mate and Ipswich Town player David Norris which were held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
He appeared in court on June 6 and was released on bail. He is due to appear in court again on September 8.
In a statement, the club said: “We have advised Luke McCormick that, in light of current circumstances, he has been suspended by the club and so will not be required to attend pre-season training.”
