THE pensioner who died after a crash in Wangford on Friday has been named as Ralph Seaman, who was from Brampton, near Beccles.
THE pensioner who died after a crash in Wangford on Friday has been named as Ralph Seaman, who was from Brampton, near Beccles.
Mr Seaman, 83, was airlifted to hospital after a collision between his black Skoda Felicia and a red Vauxhall Astra at around 3.50pm.
The former lorry driver, known as Ray, died from his injuries at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital following the collision on the A12 at the junction with the B1126.
Mr Seaman and his wife Penny celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary a year ago with sons Terry and Trevor and the couple's three grandchildren.
The couple started their married life in Stoven, before moving to Brampton, where they built their own home in Old School Close. They had an active interest in village life and were co-founders of the village hall in the 1950s.
Mr Seaman was presented with a long-service award by the Duke of Kent after working as a lorry driver for T&J Kidner for 50 years.
Police are asking anyone who saw the crash, and have not yet spoken to officers, to call PC Roy Dade on 01473 613500.
