POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a ram raid at a Suffolk sports centre in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to Debenham Sports Centre at around 2.30am following an alarm activation and found the premises had been entered.
It appears that a vehicle had been used to break through glass doors into the main building.
An attempt was made to remove the safe but it was left at the scene in Gracechurch Street.
A white Toyota Hilux vehicle was seen leaving the area at speed.
A vehicle matching this description has been reported as stolen from Redlingfield between 5pm on Tuesday and 7.15am on Wednesday.
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or has seen the Toyota Hilux, with registration YF58 ZGO, since it was stolen.
Call Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
