RESCUERS used an inflatable boat to save a man stranded on top of his car in a Dedham ford.
Fire crews from Manningtree, Colchester and Leigh helped the 18-year-old, who was neck deep in water and suffering from the cold, at about 7.40pm.
Firefighters earlier gave oxygen to a man suffering smoke inhalation and shock after a car fire in Aingers Green Road, Great Bentley.
A crew from Weeley extinguished the blaze at about 6.15pm.
