A MOTORIST is being treated on the roadside for head injuries after her car collided with an articulated tanker lorry.
The extent of the female driver's injuries remain unclear but the accident at 9.10am this morning has blocked the A14 eastbound between the Woolpit and Beyton slip roads near Bury St Edmunds, causing tailbacks.
It is thought the woman, who was driving a grey VW polo, had broken down at the time of the incident.
No other cars are to be involved and the lorry driver is shaken but unhurt.
Three fire crews have been sent to the scene from Bury and Elmswell, including the pump rescue tender, as well as the ambulance service and police who are setting up diversions.
A police spokeswoman appealed for drivers to avoid the area.
In a separate incident, on the A134 at Sudbury, two vehicles collided shortly before 9am. The ambulance service treated one person for neck pain.
