A DIABETIC sufferer had to be treated by paramedics after he suffered a dangerous dip in blood sugar levels while driving over a roundabout in Ipswich this morning.

The elderly man crashed his car on the St Matthews Street roundabout off Civic Drive in the town at just after 11.30am today.

He was left uninjured after losing control of his vehicles but was treated for low blood sugar levels on the scene by a team of paramedics.

The accident caused hold-ups to the busy flow of traffic in the town centre while the vehicle was removed from the roundabout.

An East of England Ambulance spokesperson said they had received reports that three vehicles were involved in the incident, but no-one suffered any lasting injuries.
