A driver has been airlifted to hospital with critical injuries after his car collided with a tractor in Essex this morning.
The man, thought to be in his 60s, was driving his green Nissan Almera in Wick Lane, Ardleigh, when the crash happened at about 8.15am.
Firefighters from Colchester and Wivenhoe were called to free the man from the wreckage of his car.
He was flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge in the search and rescue helicopter from RAF Wattisham.
Police described his condition as “critical”.
