A man suffered face and hand injuries when his car hit a tree on the A12 northbound in north Suffolk earlier today.

Police were called to the A12 northbound, close to the Kessingland bypass, at 6.32am by the driver himself who said his car had collided with a tree.

Ambulance crews arrived to take the man, who reported having face and hand injuries, to hospital shortly afterwards.

The road was blocked for some time while a fuel spillage was cleaned up but traffic had cleared by approximately 9am.
