A DRIVER suffered head injuries in a serious crash on the A12 in the early hours of the morning.
The 43-year-old lost control of his silver Honda Civic which left the road, went up an embankment before rolling twice and coming to rest on its wheels back on the carriageway.
The accident happened at about 5.50am near Witham and the driver, from Colchester, was taken to Chelmsford's Broomfield Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, or anyone who saw the car in the moments before, to contact them.
A police spokeswoman said no other cars were hit when the Civic went back onto the carriageway.
