FIREFIGHTERS and paramedics were called out to a road crash in a rural Suffolk village just before midnight last night.

A grey Fiat Punto was involved in a collision near to a barn in Hawkedon, near Wickhambrook in west Suffolk at 23.57.

Fire crews were called after it was initially reported the driver was trapped in the vehicle, but this turned out not to be the case.

Paramedics gave treatment to the man at the scene but did not need to take him to hospital.

There were no other vehicles involved.

The Fiat Punto was registered to Norfolk, police have said.
