A car left the road and hit a tree in west Suffolk this afternoon but the driver escaped injury.

The incident took place on the A134 near the village of Alpheton, near Long Melford, around 12.15pm.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said only one car was involved in the incident and no injuries were reported.
