Driving test pass rates in Suffolk and north Essex - Where are you most likely to pass?

Ipswich has the highest pass rate for driving tests in Suffolk and north Essex, it has been revealed.

According to data from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, Ipswich had a pass rate of 61.2% in 2016/17.

In the same period, Colchester had the fewest number of passes with a rate of just 41.3%.

The national average for passes for 2016/17 was 47.1%, which Colchester fell short of and Ipswich exceeded.

The figures showed that more men are passing than women. The national pass rate for men in 2016/17 was 50.6%, whereas for women it was 43.9%.

Lowestoft comes second to Ipswich with its pass rate of 52.2%, third is Chelmsford with 49.1%, and fourth is Bury St Edmunds with 41.7%.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency statistics shows that pass rates have been increasing since 2008 for Ipswich, Lowestoft, Colchester, and Chelmsford, making 2017/16 their best year.

However, the Bury St Edmunds rates appear to be on the decrease – their best year’s were 2011-2013.
