Two London drug dealers who hid wraps of cocaine and heroin in their mouths when they were stopped by police in Ipswich have each been jailed for 27 months.

David Lawal was driving a Honda which was stopped in Key Street and Benny Adu-Mensah was the front seat passenger, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Adu-Mensah was found to have 10 wraps of heroin and cocaine in his mouth and Lawal had 52 wraps in his mouth. A mobile phone found in the car contained text messages connected with drug dealing, said Peter Gair, prosecuting.

Lawal and Adu-Mensah, both 23, of London, admitted possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply on May 26 and were each jailed for 27 months.

Keith Hadrill, for Lawal, said he became involved in the offences after getting into debt. Daniel Taylor, for Adu-Mensah, described the defendants as naive and said Adu-Mensah accepted he had benefited financially.
