Police have issued an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a burglary in Witham that happened while the householder was inside.

Two men are reported to have been knocking on doors in Barwell Way at about 4pm to 4.30pm on Friday, November 14, asking about a car for sale.

At one house, when they failed to get an answer, one of the men has then entered the property by the back door. The householder went downstairs to find the man in her kitchen and when she challenged him he ran off. Both men are then believed to have fled up the Blackwater Trail.

Nothing was stolen but police want to interview the man about his actions. If anyone recognises him they are asked to call Pc Thomas Lennon at Braintree Police Station on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
