E.ON announced today that the redundancies will be many from its retail division across the country, including its main offices in Nottinghamshire and Coventry.
The proposed reduction is part of an ongoing programme to help create a sustainable business.
E.ON pulled out of its Wherstead offices last year, leading to more than 300 job losses.
