East Anglia: Rail passengers face major delays

RAIL services between London and Norwich have been cancelled or delayed by up to two hours due to signalling failures between Chelmsford and Hatfield Peverel.

Train services on all routes via Chelmsford are effected, including Clacton-on-Sea, Braintree, Colchester, Whitam, Hatfield Peverel, Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Shenfield, Gidea Park, Ilford and London Liverpool Street.

The cause of the signalling failure is not yet known but buses are being dispatched to transport passengers to their destination.

National Express said engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal.

To find out whether this will impact your journey and to get alternative options planned for you, visit the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner, or call TrainTracker on 0871 200 49 50.
