Major road maintenance in East Anglia over the next week
Highways England teams will be carrying out maintenance on trunk roads across the region over the next week.
Drivers should be ready for potential delays on main roads on the following routes:
A12 junctions 12 to 15, Mountnessing: Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the A12 continues this week. The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 12 and 15 on weeknights between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route via the B1002.
A12 and A120, Essex: An ongoing programme of work to repair damaged safety barriers along the A12 and A120 in various locations continues this week, with working hours of 8pm to 6am, weeknights only. Single lane closures will be in place past the area being worked on.
A12 junctions 19 to 28 Chelmsford to Colchester: Work to improve road user safety along the A12 northbound between Chelmsford and Colchester continues this week. The northbound carriageway between junctions 19 and 28 will be closed on weeknights between 8pm and 6am. A clearly signed diversion route will be in place via the A138, A130, A131, and A120 to Marks Tey and along the B1408, Cymbeline Way and the A134. Surface repairs will also take place within these closures.
A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon: Construction work on the new A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon scheme is underway. Highways England is currently carrying out a variety of tasks for which we need to close lanes or carriageways on the A1, A14 and some local roads at times, usually overnight between 8pm and 6am, unless otherwise stated. A clearly signed diversion route will always be in place for closures.
A14 junction 52, Claydon: Work to maintain the junction 52 bridge deck at Claydon begins this week. Monday to Wednesday nights, 8pm to 6am, the eastbound carriageway will be closed and road users will be diverted via the exit slip road and back onto the A14 via the entry slip road. On Thursday and Friday nights, 8pm to 6am, the westbound entry slip road will be closed and road users will be diverted via junction 53.
