The family of a 15-year-old boy who died in a road accident have paid tribute to their “wonderful and loving” son.
Jake Anthony Knott, from East Bergholt, in Suffolk, was riding a bicycle in Mecklin Beck, Santon Bridge, Holmrook, at 11.30am on Saturday when the collision with a red Fiat van happened.
Jake’s family have released this tribute: “Jake was a keen footballer, cyclist and sportsman, a good friend to so many and an absolutely wonderful and loving son.
“Jake had a gentle but competitive nature, an infectious laugh, cheeky smile and a sharp and witty sense of humour.
“Jake’s shocking and tragic passing leaves a chasm in the lives of those that knew him. The hearts of his family who adored him will be forever broken.
“Jake, may your soul soar in the beautiful lakes and mountains where you spent your last hours. You were so happy to be there.
“Rest in peace our darling Jake.”
The 45-year-old male driver of the van was uninjured. Paramedics attended the scene with Jake being taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding this accident.
