Armed robbers targeted the Co-Op Daily shop at Silver End in Witham last night.

It’s not the first time the shop has been targeted Essex Police issued an appeal for information in February after large knives were used to threaten staff at the store on February 16.

In January 2017 another armed robbery took place at the store when a hammer and a pole were used to push staff to the floor.

A spokesperson for the East of England Co-op, said: “I can confirm that an armed robbery took place at our store at Silver End, Witham yesterday evening.

“We are supporting our colleagues involved in this distressing incident and would urge anyone with any information to contact Essex police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”

Essex Police have been contacted for comment.
