A cake and coffee morning is being held in Lowestoft in aid of Help for Heroes to mark the opening of the East of England Co-op’s new funeral branch.
Organised by the company’s associate funeral director, Councillor Nick Webb, the event takes place at the firm’s community garden on Westwood Avenue between 11am and 3pm on Friday, June 29.
Taking place on the eve of Lowestoft Armed Forces Day, Councillor Frank Mortimer, chairman of Waveney District Council, will officially open the branch, with Reverend David Hayden leading a dedication and blessing at 11.30am.
Visitors can then enjoy a hot drink and a slice of homemade cake as part of national fund-raiser Bake for Heroes
Mr Webb said: “I’m looking forward welcoming the local community to join us for the official opening of the branch, whilst also supporting a very worthy cause.”
