Ward boundaries for the new East Suffolk Council that will replace Waveney and Suffolk Coastal from May 2019 are currently under consideration by the local government Boundary Commission.

It is currently carrying out a review of wards in the area, which stretches from Felixstowe to just north of Lowestoft inland as far as villages just west of Framlingham.

The wards for the new council are likely to be larger than those for the two authorities it will replace – but the changes will not affect parish council boundaries.

The wards will be drawn up later this year after public consultation. Voters have until February 19 to take part in a survey which can be accessed online at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DJWC52S

Once the new wards are confirmed the first elections for the new council which will continue to have offices at Lowestoft and Melton will take place in May 2019.
