The stage is set for a three-day celebration of transatlantic Americana, roots and folk music down on a Suffolk farm.
Organisers of the eighth Maverick Festival descended on Easton Farm Park, near Framlingham, yesterday to prepare for the weekend-long event which kicks off this evening. It is the second year the festival has teamed up with the Alabama tourist board to bring artists from the Deep South state across to east Suffolk.
The line-up also includes Britain’s own Billy Bragg and Minneapolis-based Chastity Brown, who appeared on Later…with Jools Holland last September, performing her single, Colorado.
Other acts include American folk legend Tom Paley, Larkin Poe, Joel Rafael, and Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue.
